"El Sueño del Matador” (“The Dream of the Matador”) is a painting inspired by the figure of Juan Belmonte. Revolutionary figure of bullfighting at the beginning of the 20th century. The piece is a meditation on something as controversial as bullfighting, from a point of view that leaves opinion behind, to try to find the possible essence that emerges in this type of spectacle. Focusing on the main protagonists

In this show I find a lot of passion and purity. I see that the most interesting thing about this, beyond opinions, is that it is a social event that does not leave anyone indifferent, since everyone who knows about it has an opinion about it, whether good or bad.

The essence of the painting is in that internal dialogue that the bullfighter has, and in a certain way daydream. Ideals that lead him to surrender to a spectacle that can lead to death but if it occurs, it will bring with it glory. But without forgetting, and this is what surprised me the most, that the main protagonist is the bull, and whom the audience observes carefully. The more dangerous he is, the more he is loved, but despite that, he is seen as a divine entity, who will be sacrificed liturgically and all the injuries he suffers will be fairly according to the rules.

Without a doubt it is a show with a great moral charge and in which you can breathe a surreal atmosphere. That's why it inspired me.
